I have seen this behaviour once in a while for a long time, but now it is more or less 100% sure that the addin does not open when excel is started by opening an excisting *.xlsx-file. This brings up the ribbon and the scripts become available. The work-around is to browse to the *.xlam in "C:\Documents and Settings\\Application Data\Microsoft\AddIns" and open it manually. In these cases, the ribbon is not displayed and when I open the VBA-editor by opening an existing excel file (*.xlsx) in windows explorer. When I open Excel from scratch from the Start-menue, the addins file is opened and the corresponding ribbon is displayed.īut the thing is, sometimes, and more often lately, the addin does not open when I start excel in other ways, e.g. ![]() It is properly ticked in the File/Options/Add-Ins/Manage addins dialogue in Excel. I have an addins-file, *.xlam, in Excel 2013.
